About the role
Redfox has been exclusively retained to identify a Senior Quality & Compliance Manager for one of the UK’s leading fresh produce businesses.
This appointment represents an outstanding opportunity for an experienced technical leader to join a highly successful organisation supplying major UK retailers. The business is bringing together responsibility for Site Quality, Food Safety, Legality and Compliance under one senior leader to provide greater visibility, stronger governance and clear ownership across the operation.
The successful individual will lead the site’s Quality, Compliance functions, creating a culture where quality and compliance become everyone’s responsibility rather than simply the responsibility of one department.
The Role
Reporting into the Head of Technical, you will be responsible for:
* Leading and developing the Quality, Ripening and Compliance teams.
* Owning the site’s Quality, Food Safety, Legality and Compliance agenda.
* Driving continuous improvement across all technical systems.
* Leading customer, retailer, certification and regulatory audits.
* Building strong working relationships across Operations and Technical.
* Developing a culture where issues are identified early and resolved proactively.
* Using KPI analysis and operational data to drive continuous improvement.
* Coaching and developing the team & growing future technical leaders within the business.
First 6 Months
You’ll quickly establish yourself as a visible, credible and trusted leader by:
Building strong relationships across the business.
Developing high-performing technical teams.
Creating clear ownership of quality and compliance risks.
Improving audit readiness.
Using data and trend analysis to drive decisions & operational improvements.
Creating confidence across the business through clear communication and leadership.
Longer Term
You’ll establish a quality function that:
Identifies risks before they become problems.
Uses data to prioritise improvement activity.
Consistently delivers excellent audit performance.
Has succession planning and leadership depth.
Coaches people rather than simply managing issues.
Is viewed internally as a trusted business partner
Who We’re Looking For
This appointment is fundamentally about leadership. You must demonstrate:
Proven experience leading technical or operational teams.
A strong background within food manufacturing, FMCG or fresh produce.
Excellent people management and coaching ability.
Commercial awareness.
Confidence making difficult decisions.
Strong organisational capability.
Experience using KPIs and data to drive performance.
The credibility to influence stakeholders at every level.
Fresh produce experience would certainly be advantageous, however exceptional leadership capability is considered more important than detailed product knowledge.
