Band 6 Medical Engineer

Essential*Professional electronics knowledge through BEng in electronics or equivalent.*Manufacturer approved technical training on a wide range of complex medical equipment.*Evidence of attendance of short courses and regular updating of training requiredDesirable*Continual Professional Development to obtain registration requirements with the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM).

Essential*Substantial experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment.*A comprehensive understanding and competence in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment specific to the section.*Ability to record and analyse work data.*Relevant knowledge and competence in electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, anaesthetics, gas, infusion therapies computing and physiological measurement, as appropriate to the section.*Experience of working in Maternity, specifically neonatal units.
