About the role
Air Personnel are delighted to be supporting a client for the role of Project Engineer
The Project Engineer reports to the head of design and is responsible for representing the engineering Department to external customers. The Project Engineer shall coordinate the efforts of various teams of engineers in the development and management of a single project.
The Project Engineer will perform project-level scheduling, reporting; and will facilitate progress of the team ensuring that projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner, including working across various functional groups, structures, Mechanical Systems, Electrical)
You will be the client's primary contact.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist the design team with the initial design concepts in accordance with aircraft manufacturer guidelines and engineering best practices
2. Interfaces with structural, mechanical systems, interior, avionics, and electrical design engineers to ensure certifiable designs in support of rotorcraft modification.
3.Provide Engineering Liaison support onsite; independently make decisions concerning engineering/production deviation and successfully resolve fit, form, and function issues while understanding the limitation of manufacturing and methods.
4. Within a multi-function, matrix organization, manages all systems for integrated project scheduling, planning, and project control to optimize resource allocation and cost and schedule requirements for all projects.
5. Assist the client in their overall goal and develop a good working relationship between the company and the client
6. Provides and/or coordinates the technical interface to key Outside Service Vendors
7. Assisting the project managers in preparing plans, reports and presentations to communicate to program teams and client of the status of program commitments.
8. Generates and maintains execution plans, schedules and supporting budgets for projects.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Computer Aided Drafting/Design (AutoCAD preferred), Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook MS Project, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer
2. Aviation background and aircraft interior experience is a must. Preferred if they have rotorcraft experience.
3. Knowledge of mechanical design and documentation standards. Nice to have a background knowledge of electrical design also
4. Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
6. Strong communication and problem-solving skills
