Role: Court of Protection Paralegal
Location: London Bridge

The Firm
A well-established London law firm with a strong national reputation is looking to appoint a Court of Protection Paralegal to join its specialist team.

The Role
The successful candidate will work alongside Partners, Solicitors and Paralegals within the firm's Court of Protection team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing administrative and legal support to clients.
- Assisting with legal advice under appropriate supervision and attending client meetings.
- Visiting clients in hospitals, care homes and their homes where required.
- Managing regular payments to clients and maintaining accurate payment schedules.
- Forecasting future expenditure and assisting with the preparation of client budgets.
- Maintaining regular contact with clients and supporting their individual lifestyle requirements.
- Managing correspondence with clients, solicitors and other third parties professionally and confidentially.
- Producing letters, witness statements, court applications and other legal documentation.
- Assisting with multiple matters across Partners and Solicitors within the team.
- Delegating and supervising tasks where appropriate.
- Maintaining high standards of client care and confidentiality.
- Working effectively as part of a wider team while developing your legal knowledge and experience.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working within a Court of Protection team.
- Experience dealing with Continuing Healthcare (CHC) matters is preferred.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional and client-focused approach.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Confidence working with figures, budgets and financial information.
- A flexible, proactive and practical approach.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
A Law degree is preferred, alongside previous Court of Protection experience, particularly experience involving Continuing Healthcare matters.
