Health, Safety and Compliance Specialist

An exciting interim opportunity has arisen in Liverpool for an experienced Health, Safety and Compliance Specialist to lead the implementation and accreditation of ISO 20121, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 across a complex, multi-site organisation. The successful candidate will take ownership of the entire certification journey, engaging stakeholders at all levels and building robust management systems that achieve successful external accreditation. Client Details Our client is a large, customer-facing organisation operating across multiple sites and complex operational environments in Liverpool. They are committed to enhancing their governance, sustainability and health & safety frameworks and are seeking an experienced interim professional to accelerate their accreditation journey. Description The Health, Safety and Compliance Specialist will: Lead the end-to-end delivery of ISO 20121, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 accreditation programmes. Conduct a comprehensive gap analysis against certification requirements. Design, develop and implement integrated management systems aligned to ISO standards. Maintain policies, procedures, risk registers and supporting documentation. Maintain current sustainability, environmental and health & safety governance frameworks. Engage and influence senior leadership, operational management and key stakeholders. Deliver internal audits and coordinate external certification audits. Build effective corrective action plans and ensure successful closure of findings. Act as the primary point of contact with certification bodies, regulators and external stakeholders. Provide regular programme updates and accreditation readiness reports to executive leadership.Profile A successful Health, Safety and Compliance Specialist should have: Demonstrable experience delivering ISO 20121, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification projects. Experienced interim consultant who can operate autonomously and drive change from day one. Strong knowledge of management systems, compliance frameworks, risk management and audit methodologies. Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 highly desirable. NEBOSH qualification and IOSH membership advantageous. Excellent stakeholder management skills. Experience working within complex operational, events, hospitality, leisure and sport, venue or multi-site environments would be beneficial. Strong project management capability with a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach. Able to combine strategic thinking with hands-on implementation.Job Offer The role of Health, Safety and Compliance Specialist benefits from: £300-£400 per day (Inside IR35). Interim contract (circa. 3 days a week). Liverpool-based assignment at a landmark site. Flexible working arrangement with on-site stakeholder engagement required.
