Horticultural Maintenance Technician

Plant Maintenance Technician required to maintain living walls and interior planting displays in prestigious workspaces throughout the Midlands. Sayjo Recruitment are recruiting for this permanent full-time role on behalf of its client. The role involves extensive travel across the M1 with a a company vehicle. This will include collecting stock from the warehouse in Leeds each Monday before going to set jobs in the Midlands. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will manage client requirements across the M1 corridor. As a key client-facing representative, you will maintain planting schemes and living walls to a high standard and help ensure client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities * Carry out routine plant maintenance to a high standard, including watering, pruning, feeding, cleaning, and pest control. * Monitor plant health and spot early signs of pests, disease, or environmental stress. * Replace plants that fail to meet visual standards, keeping accurate records in line with company guidelines. * Communicate professionally with clients and report issues or recommendations. * Transport plants, tools, and materials safely between client sites by public transport and occasionally by company vehicle. * Follow health and safety procedures at all times, especially in commercial environments. * Report on-site issues to internal teams to help improve service, planning, and stock management. Skills & Qualifications Required: * Experience in plant care, horticulture, or interior landscaping. * Good knowledge of common indoor plant species and their care needs. * Able to work independently, manage time well, and follow a route schedule. * Full UK driving licence. * This role involves regular lifting, carrying, travel, long periods of standing, and occasional work at height. * Strong communication and customer service skills. Preferred: * Horticulture qualification (e.g., RHS Level 2 or equivalent). * Previous experience in a similar plant maintenance or interior landscaping role, ideally within commercial properties or gardens. * Experience working in office or commercial environments.
