About the role

You are already doing associate level structural work, and you are still waiting for the title, the client contact and the influence over the practice that should come with it.

This is a London based consulting engineering practice working across civil and structural projects for a varied client base spanning residential, commercial and public sector schemes. The team is small enough that every engineer has real visibility of a project from start to finish, and large enough to offer a genuinely varied pipeline of work at any one time.

The usual frustration at this level is being treated as senior in workload but not in recognition, still filtered through someone else before a client hears from you directly. Here, an associate is expected to hold that client relationship directly rather than being kept a step removed from it, and to have a real say in how projects are run rather than simply delivering someone else's brief.

The variety across residential, commercial and public sector work also means the role does not narrow into one repetitive project type, which matters for anyone who has felt boxed into a single specialism elsewhere.

If direct client ownership and a genuinely varied pipeline sounds better than another year of associate level work without associate recognition, get in touch.

Salary is between 75,000 and 88,000, depending on experience. If you've read this far and you're still unsure and would prefer a detailed market insight including salary bands and market trends - then check out our free guide here:
