Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm (with some flexibility for the right candidate)

Are you an experienced HR professional looking for your next challenge? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same?
We're recruiting for a proactive and organised HR Advisor to join a highly successful national organisation based on the outskirts of Wellington. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within the business, providing comprehensive support across the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to employee relations and payroll administration. Working closely with managers, employees, operational teams and senior leaders, you'll help ensure HR processes run smoothly, remain legally compliant, and continue to support a positive and engaging workplace culture.
This is a 6-month contract, so candidates must be available to start immediately and commit to the full duration.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support to managers and employees on policies, procedures, attendance, conduct, performance and employment matters
Assist with a variety of employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, capability, probation and wellbeing matters
Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems, ensuring GDPR compliance at all times
Support the full recruitment process, including advertising vacancies, coordinating interviews, preparing offers, conducting right-to-work checks and onboarding new starters
Manage new starter administration, including contracts, inductions, training arrangements and HR system setup
Prepare HR documentation, including contracts, letters, policies, meeting notes and employee communications
Support monthly payroll administration by processing starters, leavers, salary changes, overtime, deductions and absence information
Maintain training, induction and compliance records, ensuring mandatory requirements are met
Coordinate employee engagement, wellbeing and internal communication initiatives
Produce HR reports and assist with audits, including absence trends, headcount reporting, probation reviews and training records
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, onboarding materials, templates and ways of workingWhat We're Looking For
Strong knowledge of UK employment law, HR policies and employee relations procedures
Experience providing practical and commercially focused HR advice to managers and employees
Excellent organisational and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work across all levels of the business
The ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
