Fire and Security Engineer Location: Portsmouth – Covering South Coast We are recruiting on behalf of a well-known, highly respected multi-disciplined fire and security company with a strong and consistent workload across the South Coast and up to Camberley. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to develop alongside a senior engineer, work on quality installations, and progress within a stable employer. What We Are Looking For A motivated individual with industry experience in fire sprinklers and fire & security Engineers confident supporting a senior engineer with installation works Ability to carry out PPM service calls, fault finding and second fix works Strong background in CCTV and Access Control, particularly high-level IP systems Good IP knowledge is required due to the volume of networked jobs Professional demeanour with clients and colleagues Willingness to learn through in-house and manufacturer training Full UK driving licence Main Daily Duties * First fix installation works * Second fix and commissioning support * Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) service calls * Fault finding and reactive repairs across client sites * Assisting the senior engineer with ongoing installation projects * Work is mainly in Portsmouth, with travel up to Camberley * Covering nearby towns including Southampton, Fareham, Eastleigh, Havant, Chichester, Farnborough and surrounding areas Contracted Working Hours * Monday to Friday – no weekends * 08:30 – 17:00 on site * 40 hours per week * Call-out rota: 2 weeks on, 8 weeks off – Average 3–5 call outs during the on-call duration ( Mainly Portsmouth area) Hours, Pay & Package * £34,000 – £36,000 with progression for the right candidate * Overtime paid at time and a half * Sunday overtime paid at double time * Call-out payment: £65 per call out, including the first hour on site * Supplied van, phone, uniform and laptop * Door-to-door pay is provided after the first half hour each way * First half hour travel each way is not payable Why Join This Company * Employer with an excellent industry reputation * Structured training programmes – in house, onsite and outsourced * Manufacturer courses and additional qualifications available * Clear routes into senior engineering and supervisory positions * Varied and technically interesting work with a heavy emphasis on IP CCTV and Access Control * Stable, organised workload with long-term career prospects If you are interested in this role please apply below
