Reason Talent Advisory is supporting an established and growing business to appoint a Senior Contracts Manager into a newly created position.
This is a senior, visible appointment designed to strengthen the connection between operational delivery, client relationships and the leadership team.
It is broader than a traditional single-contract role. The successful person will provide oversight across multiple contracts and workstreams, support operational managers, strengthen client engagement and introduce greater consistency across the business.
THE ROLE
Working closely with the senior leadership and operational management teams, you will:
• Provide senior oversight across multiple contracts and operational workstreams.
• Act as a key link between senior leadership, Operations Managers, Supervisors, clients and delivery teams.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and represent the business at contract and performance meetings.
• Manage client expectations and take ownership of escalations and service issues.
• Support and appropriately challenge operational managers to ensure priorities are clear and commitments are delivered.
• Monitor contract performance, service levels, quality, risk and emerging operational issues.
• Provide senior leadership with clear updates on performance, priorities, risks and recommended actions.
• Review existing processes and introduce practical improvements to communication, workflow, reporting and accountability.
• Promote consistency across different operational teams and service areas.
• Support contract retention and the development of long-term client relationships.
• Help create a culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.
ABOUT YOU
You are likely to have developed your career within a trade, construction, property-maintenance or building-services environment before progressing into contracts or operational management.
You will understand the realities of operational and site delivery while also having the confidence and credibility to manage senior client relationships.
You will ideally bring:
• Significant Contracts Management, Operations Management or senior service-delivery experience.
• Experience within construction, property maintenance, social housing, building services, multi-trade, mechanical, heating, plumbing or a related contracting environment.
• A practical understanding of planned and reactive operational delivery.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management experience.
• The ability to support, lead and constructively challenge operational managers.
• Excellent organisation and prioritisation across multiple contracts, risks and deadlines.
• Strong commercial awareness and sound judgement.
• Clear and confident communication skills.
• The presence to command respect without taking an overly corporate approach.
• The confidence to manage upwards, identify problems early and recommend solutions.
• A relationship-led approach with a genuine commitment to accountability and high-quality delivery.
THE PERSON
This opportunity will suit a mature, credible and grounded leader who understands what happens operationally on the ground.
You will be equally comfortable attending a site meeting, supporting an operational manager, handling a challenging client conversation or presenting clear recommendations to the leadership team.
This is a new position, giving the successful person the opportunity to shape the role and make a visible impact across the wider business.
