About the role
Our client is a highly regarded and progressive manufacturer operating within the offsite construction sector. With a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and delivery, the business is seeking to appoint an experienced Head of Procurement to lead and develop its procurement and supply chain function.
Reporting into senior leadership, this role will take overall responsibility for the end-to-end procurement strategy, ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality supply of materials, components, and services required to support manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening supplier partnerships, driving commercial efficiencies, and ensuring supply chain resilience across the business.
Key responsibilities will include developing procurement strategies aligned with operational and commercial objectives, leading supplier sourcing and negotiations, managing supplier performance, and identifying cost-saving and value engineering opportunities. The role will also work closely with design, production, and project teams to support Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) principles and ensure procurement activities align with manufacturing schedules and project timelines.
The Head of Procurement will oversee purchasing, inventory, and procurement reporting activities, ensuring all materials meet required quality standards, specifications, and UK regulatory requirements. The role will also utilise ERP/MRP systems, including Microsoft Business Central, to support procurement planning, reporting, and supply chain performance management.
We are seeking a commercially astute, strategic, and hands-on procurement leader with proven experience within manufacturing, engineering, offsite construction, or related industries. Candidates should demonstrate strong expertise in supplier management, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and procurement improvement, alongside the ability to operate effectively across both strategic and operational levels. Experience sourcing MEP components or construction-related materials would be highly advantageous.
This opportunity will appeal to an ambitious procurement professional seeking a senior leadership role within a growing and forward-thinking business, offering significant influence, responsibility, and the opportunity to shape procurement strategy and supply chain performance as the business continues to expand.
