About the role
Principal Land Quality Consultant
Advance TRS is working with an established multidisciplinary consultancy to recruit a Principal Land Quality Consultant to join its growing Infrastructure and Environment team in either Birmingham or London.
This is an opportunity for an experienced land quality professional to take a senior role delivering technically challenging projects across the UK. The position combines technical consultancy, project management, site-based activities and client engagement, with a strong pipeline of work across land quality, contaminated land and brownfield regeneration.
The Role
The successful candidate will work predominantly from the office, with travel to sites as required. They will take responsibility for delivering land quality assessments and supporting the investigation, remediation and regeneration of challenging sites for a range of public and private sector clients.
Key responsibilities will include:
Delivering consultancy services relating to contaminated land and geo-environmental assessment.
Preparing Phase 1 desk studies, site investigation reports, risk assessments and validation reports.
Managing and supervising site investigations, remediation, demolition and construction activities where required.
Liaising with clients, contractors, stakeholders and other project team members.
Acting as Project Manager across projects of varying size and complexity.
Supporting the preparation of technical proposals, tenders and bids.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Preparing and reviewing technical drawings, reports and site documentation.
Reviewing technical deliverables and providing quality assurance.
Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
Contributing to the continued development and growth of the wider land quality service.About You
Advance TRS is looking for an experienced land quality professional with strong technical expertise and the ability to lead projects, manage stakeholders and support the development of less experienced colleagues.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
A degree in a relevant technical discipline, with an MSc being advantageous.
Chartered status with an appropriate professional institution.
Detailed knowledge of contaminated land legislation, regulation and industry best practice.
Practical understanding of CDM regulations.
Proven experience managing and delivering site investigations and/or remediation projects.
Experience supervising contractors and site teams while maintaining high health, safety and environmental standards.
Knowledge of a range of site investigation techniques, including soil logging, chemical and geotechnical sampling and analysis, gas monitoring and groundwater monitoring.
Strong capability in collecting, managing, analysing and interpreting technical data.
Extensive technical report-writing experience, including desk studies, ground investigation reports, qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, remediation options appraisals and verification reports.
Experience reviewing technical reports and supporting the development of junior consultants.
Experience delivering work through large-scale land regeneration frameworks would be advantageous.
A full UK driving licence.What's on Offer
