The Role As a mechanical maintenance engineer, you will be involved in the following Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to maximise uptime and equipment performance. Responding quickly and effectively to mechanical breakdowns to minimise disruption. Diagnosing and repairing faults across a range of production machinery. Working safely in line with SSOW, risk assessments, SOPs and company policies. Completing PPMs and reactive tasks within agreed timeframes. Maintaining accurate maintenance records (manual and electronic). Ensuring all repairs are validated by engineering supervision and production teams. Keeping the workshop organised, safe and compliant, including correct parts usage. Participating in limited call‑out cover and supporting during absence periods. Experience Required To be considered for this role, the successful candidate will have the following Experience with machinery such as granulators, conveyors, hammermills, extrusion equipment, colour separators, gearboxes, bearings, rollers and shafts. Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification (preferred). Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills and a strong team ethic. Confident using PC‑based software.
