Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Qualified Assessor in Children & Young People to support apprenticeship learners through their qualifications and contribute to the ongoing success of the programme.
The Ideal Candidate
Our client is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Assessor with a strong background in Children & Young People. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting learners, delivering high-quality assessment, and guiding individuals through their learning journey.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, managing their own caseload, and building strong relationships with learners and employers.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Delivery
Deliver high-quality, knowledge and competency-based assessments to learners
Support learners through structured planning, feedback, and regular interaction
Assess and mark workplace evidence for qualifications and Essential Skills
Learner Management
Manage a caseload of learners, ensuring timely achievement of qualifications
Conduct monthly progress reviews and set clear, measurable targets
Develop and maintain Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
Programme Coordination
Plan and deliver effective learner inductions with employers
Ensure the learner journey is clearly defined, documented, and regularly reviewed
Travel across a regional area to conduct workplace assessments
Quality & Compliance
Maintain Internal Quality Assurance standards in line with best practice
Support the development of literacy, numeracy, ICT, and digital skills
Ensure all processes meet awarding body and organisational requirements
Ideal Background & Experience
To be suitable for this role, you will need:
Essential
Level 2 & 3 NVQ/QCF in Children & Young People
Experience delivering training within this sector
CAVA qualification (or equivalent)
Previous assessor experience
Full UK driving licence and access xwzovoh to a vehicle
Willingness to undergo a DBS check (cost covered)
Willingness to register with EWC
Desirable
Welsh speaking

Able to work independently and manage a caseload effectively
Confident communicator with learners and employers
Flexible and adaptable in a field-based role
