Full-Time | 6-Month Contract
Grade 16 | £375 per day (PAYE)

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Project Manager to lead a major bridge rebuilding project in Oxford. This is a pivotal role, acting as the principal representative of the client and taking full ownership of the project from concept through to completion.

The Role

As Senior Project Manager, you will oversee the entire project lifecyclestarting with planning and design, through procurement and construction, to final delivery. You will ensure the bridge is delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance, while maintaining strong collaboration across all stakeholders.

This role requires confident leadership, strategic oversight, and the ability to manage complex infrastructure works within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of the bridge rebuild project
  • Oversee procurement processes and contract management
  • Monitor project progress against milestones and ensure timely delivery
  • Proactively identify risks and implement effective solutions
  • Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, and consultants
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, local authorities, and partners
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety, environmental, and quality standards
About You

  • Extensive experience delivering major infrastructure projects, ideally within civil engineering or bridge construction
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects on time and within budget
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline
  • Relevant professional certification (e.g. APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
  • Solid understanding of UK highways standards and bridge construction practices
