About the role
Health, Safety & Environmental Manager
Yorkshire based covering the Yorkshire North-East and North Midlands areas
Are you a Health & Safety professional who enjoys being out on site, influencing project teams and driving a positive safety culture rather than sitting behind a desk?
I'm working with a well-established civil engineering and construction contractor looking to strengthen its HSEQ team with the appointment of an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Manager. This is a key position supporting live construction projects and helping ensure the business continues to deliver safely, compliantly and to the highest industry standards.
Working closely with Directors, Project Managers and Site Teams, you'll take the lead on all aspects of health, safety and environmental management across multiple construction projects. You'll play a hands-on role in supporting project delivery, carrying out site inspections and audits, providing practical advice and ensuring the business remains compliant with current legislation and ISO management systems.
You'll also be responsible for investigating incidents, reviewing RAMS and Construction Phase Plans, identifying training needs and driving continuous improvement across the business.

Supporting operational teams with safe planning and delivery of works.
Reviewing Construction Phase Plans, RAMS and site-specific documentation.

Working closely with clients, contractors and internal teams to maintain the highest safety standards. What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who has experience in a similar HSEQ role within the construction industry and is confident influencing people at all levels of a business. You'll be organised, proactive and able to build strong relationships with site teams while maintaining high standards of compliance.
Ideally you'll hold:
NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification).
NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
Chartered IOSH (CMIOSH) or be working towards it.
Full UK driving licence.Additional qualifications such as IEMA, Lead Auditor, Incident Investigation or Mental Health First Aid would be advantageous but aren't essential.
If you're looking to join a business where you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on projects and help shape the company's HSEQ culture, I'd be keen to speak with you.
