Job Title: SEND Teacher (Complex Needs)Location: Central ManchesterContract Type: Full-TimeStart Date: ASAP About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teacher to join a specialist educational setting in Central Manchester. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, working with children and young people who have complex needs, including severe learning difficulties, autism, and associated communication or behavioural challenges. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored, engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with complex SEND
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress
  • Use a range of communication strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton) to support learning
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and carers

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with children with complex SEND needs
  • Strong understanding of differentiated teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach

Desirable:

  • Experience in a specialist or SEN school setting
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum conditions and sensory needs
  • Training in behaviour management or communication tools (e.g., Team Teach, Makaton) xwzovoh
