SPX Enterprise Control Systems | Wappenham Hybrid – 3 days onsite Build your procurement career in a technical engineering environment SPX Enterprise Control Systems (ECS) is looking for a Buyer to join our Purchasing team in Wappenham. This is a great opportunity for someone with purchasing or procurement experience looking to develop their career across electronics, PCBA, mechanical components, metals, cables and general business requirements. If you enjoy working with suppliers, negotiating prices and lead times, solving problems and keeping the business moving, we'd like to hear from you. What You'll Do * Purchase electronic components and PCB assemblies (PCBA). * Purchase mechanical/machined parts, metals, cables and other technical components. * Purchase services and general items required for the operation of the business, as requested. * Obtain quotes, raise POs and manage supplier confirmations. * Negotiate price, quality and lead times. * Manage and expedite the PO book to support business and production requirements. * Work with Planning, Production, Engineering, Quality and Finance to resolve supplier issues. * Monitor supplier performance and manage delivery, quality and cost risks. * Maintain accurate purchasing data within ERP systems. * Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve lead times and enhance purchasing processes. What We're Looking For We're looking for a Buyer with some experience who is keen to develop. You'll ideally have: * Experience in Buying, Procurement or Supply Chain. * Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or technical environment. * Experience purchasing electronic components and/or PCBA is highly desirable. * Exposure to mechanical parts, metals and cables is a bonus. * Experience managing POs and supplier relationships. * Commercial awareness and negotiation skills. * Strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills. * Good MS Office skills; ERP experience is advantageous. * CIPS Level 3 or working towards CIPS is desirable, but not essential.
