Graduate / Trainee Field Service Engineer (Mechanical) £27,000 - £35,000 (£45k OTE) + Progression + Overtime + Company Van + Full Training + Monday-Friday Carlisle, Cumbria
Are you a Mechanical Engineering graduate or NVQ Level 3 qualified engineer looking to kickstart your career in a hands-on field service role with full training and clear progression?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established engineering company that will fully invest in your development, providing both internal and manufacturer-led training on specialist hydraulic, pneumatic, and compressor systems. The company is looking for someone who is genuinely keen to learn, develop new skills, and build a long-term career within engineering.
For over 20 years, this business has delivered innovative engineering solutions across hydraulics, pneumatics, and compressors, working with a wide range of industries including food & beverage, manufacturing, and aerospace.
In this role, you will initially shadow experienced engineers across UK sites, learning how to commission, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems. Over time, you will progress into carrying out planned and reactive maintenance independently, with full support and training to become a fully qualified Hydraulic Engineer.
This role would suit a motivated Mechanical Engineering graduate or NVQ Level 3 qualified candidate who is eager to learn, develop their technical skills, and build a long-term career within a supportive and growing engineering business.
The role
- Shadow senior engineers across UK sites
- Assist with commissioning, repair, and maintenance of hydraulic systems
- Receive full internal and manufacturer-led training
- Field-based role with UK travel
- Progress towards becoming a fully qualified Field Service / Hydraulic Engineer
The person
- Mechanical Engineering graduate or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
- Keen to learn and develop a career in hydraulics and field engineering
- Full UK driving licence
- Can commute to Carlisle
