L J Transportation are seeking to appoint a reliable and skilled Class 2 HGV Recovery Driver to join our ever growing team. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various types of vehicles. Being a customer facing role; good customer service and a high level of professionalism is essential.

The Truck will be parked at our Enfield location for either of the following shifts:

Mid shift (10am- 10pm) 5 days on/ 3 days off shift pattern

Night Shift (8 hour shift, can be flexible on start time for this) Monday- Friday no weekend work required

*Duties*

* Operate lorries for the purpose of delivering damaged/ broken down vehicles to various locations
* Ensure the safe loading and unloading of vehicles, particularly on flatbed vehicles.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
* Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
* Assist in the maintenance of the vehicle by reporting any issues or required repairs promptly.

*Requirements*

* Valid commercial driving licence (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating flatbed lorries.
* Minimum 1 year's experience driving either a Class 2 or Class 1 vehicle
* Proven experience as a recovery driver and/or mechanical knowledge desirable but not essential
* Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices.
* Ability to navigate using GPS systems and maps effectively.
* Excellent time management skills with a focus on punctuality.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Being a customer facing role, a commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service is essential.
