About the role

Location; Milton Keynes We are working with a highly automated logistics and warehouse operation in Milton Keynes supporting a fast-paced distribution environment. The site operates advanced materials handling and automated warehouse systems, with a strong focus on uptime, reliability and operational efficiency. This is a great opportunity for a Semi-Skilled Mechanical Fitter to join the existing maintenance team on a 12-month contract. Working outside IR35, this role offers strong contract stability and the opportunity to gain experience within a well-structured automated environment. You will be responsible for supporting day-to-day maintenance activities across the site, carrying out first-line mechanical fixes, planned preventative maintenance and general mechanical upkeep of warehouse equipment. This role would suit a Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Engineer with previous industrial, warehouse or manufacturing experience who enjoys hands-on mechanical work in a fast-paced operational setting. responsibilities of a semi-skilled mechanical fitter: Carry out first-line mechanical repairs across automated warehouse equipment Support planned preventative maintenance activities to maximise equipment uptime Carry out general mechanical maintenance on conveyors, materials handling systems and associated plant Assist the maintenance team with breakdown response and routine engineering tasks Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and efficiently Support continuous operation of the automated warehouse environment Maintain good housekeeping standards within engineering areas skills & qualifications of a semi-skilled mechanical fitter: Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, fitting or industrial engineering support Experience within warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or automated environments (desirable) Practical fault-finding and problem-solving ability Ability to work safely within a busy operational environment Good communication skills and ability to work within an existing maintenance team benefits of a semi-skilled mechanical fitter: 12-month contract Outside IR35 £25.00 per hour Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 16:00 Long-term stable contract within a structured automated environment Opportunity to work alongside an experienced maintenance team If you feel this Semi-Skilled Mechanical Fitter role is right for you, please contact Rebecca Williams at Maintech Recruitment for more information or click apply.
