Criminology Lead Teacher

  • Job Type: Part-time (potential full-time)

Collingwood College is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Criminology Lead Teacher to join our Humanities team. This part-time role offers the opportunity to become full-time for candidates who can also teach an additional Humanities subject such as Sociology, History, Geography, or RE.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead the delivery and development of Criminology, ensuring high-quality teaching and strong student outcomes.
  • Engage and inspire learners with a curriculum that fosters a passion for criminological thinking.
  • Teach Criminology at KS4 and/or KS5, depending on experience.
  • Lead curriculum planning and assessment within Criminology.
  • Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise achievement.
  • Contribute to the wider Humanities department.
  • For full-time consideration: teach an additional Humanities subject.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Criminology.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent classroom practice and behaviour management skills.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to teaching and leadership.
  • Ability to teach an additional Humanities subject (desirable for full-time applicants).
