TheSeniorFinanceOfficerwillsupportthedeliveryofaneffectiveandefficient financefunction,contributingtofinancialreporting,budgetmonitoring,financial planning and operational finance activities. The postholder will act as the primary finance contact for designated service areas within the organisation, initially supporting two significant operational areas.Workingcloselywithmanagersandbudgetholders,therolewillprovide financial information, guidance and challenge to support effective decision-making and budget management. As part of a small charity finance team, the postholder will be expected to work flexibly across a range of finance activities to ensure continuity of service while maintaining strong financial controls and compliance with charity, funder and statutory requirements. Key Responsibilities Financial Management, Reporting and Business Partnering Actastheprimaryfinancecontactfordesignatedserviceareas,building effective relationships with managers and budget holders to support financial planning, decision-making and the effective use of resources. Supportthepreparationofmanagementaccounts,budgets,forecastsand cashflow projections, providing timely financial information and analysis. Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations,supportingmonth-endandyear-endprocessesand reporting deadlines. Supportthefinancialmanagementofrestrictedandunrestrictedfunds, grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, charity accounting standards and organisational policies. Financial Operations and Team Support PrepareandsubmitVATreturnsandmaintainsupportingdocumentation. Provideflexiblesupportacrosstransactionprocessingactivities,including purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll reconciliations and financial record maintenance, as required to meet team capacity and operational needs. Financial Control and Compliance Supportthemaintenanceofeffectivefinancialcontrolsandprocedures. Complywithallorganisationalpoliciesandprocedures,includingHealth and Safety, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Data Protection and Safeguarding requirements. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as reasonably required by the Head of Finance. Essential Criteria AAT/ATIQualified,AccountingTechnicianqualificationorequivalent relevant experience. At least 2 years experience in a financial role within public, voluntary, or private sector Experience of financial processing, reconciliations, ledger management, budgetmonitoringandfinancialreportingalongwithexperiencesupporting audits or compliance processes.
