Line Leader – Stevenage
Pay: £14.31 – £17.36 per hour Full‑Time
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Line Leader to join our operations team in Stevenage. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced production environment, enjoys leading people, and takes pride in delivering high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.
About the Role
As a Line Leader, you will oversee and coordinate production and decant lines, ensuring smooth workflow, accurate labelling, and consistent product quality. You will guide a team of up to 25 operatives, support training, manage system data, and maintain compliance with all company procedures.
This is a hands‑on leadership role where strong communication, problem‑solving, and organisational skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Line Management & Efficiency
Lead and coordinate production/decant lines to meet hourly efficiency targets
Ensure all plans are followed accurately and escalate any issues
Complete SIC boards and trackers to the required standard
Reduce waste across product, packaging, and downtime
Maintain high accuracy in labelling, packaging, and process controls
Planning & Productivity
Follow production plans and report amendments to the Team Leader/Supervisor
Provide clear handovers between shifts
Support the department in achieving KPIs and operational goals
Quality & Customer Specification
Ensure all products are packed or decanted to the correct specification
Highlight any concessions or quality concerns promptly
Administration & Systems
Manage data accurately in Prophet, Marco, and RedZone
Complete stock takes and transfers correctly
Ensure all reports and plans are completed on time
People & Training
Support the development of your team and identify strong performers
Train line leaders, operatives, unloaders, and line feeders
Maintain accurate timekeeping and report disciplinary issues when required
Hygiene & Housekeeping
Promote the company’s clean‑as‑you‑go policy
Ensure GMP standards are met at all times
Health & Safety
Follow all health and safety policies
Report hazards, near misses, and equipment faults immediately
Keep fire exits clear and ensure safe working practices
What We’re Looking For
Experience in food processing (desirable)
Strong administrative and computer skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Ability to prioritise and maintain accuracy under pressure
Flexible, motivated, and energetic with strong attention to detail
