Speech and Language Teaching Assistant (EYFS & Key Stage 1)Full-Time | Starting September | Primary School in Blackburn
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join our friendly primary school team in Blackburn from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting children in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage One with their communication and language development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) in both one-to-one and small group settings
- Work closely with the class teacher and Speech and Language Therapist to deliver targeted interventions
- Assist in the planning and implementation of tailored learning activities
- Help create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to staff and parents where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience working with young children, ideally within EYFS or Key Stage One
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of speech, language, and communication development
- Be patient, nurturing, and adaptable to individual pupil needs
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Be committed to supporting children’s learning, confidence, and wellbeing
