Your new company
Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their payroll team on an 8-week temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional to support a large, complex organisation during a busy period, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services.
The role will be based on-site and offers flexible working hours across a standard 36.25-hour working week.
Your new role
Processing end-to-end payroll for a large workforce, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payroll regulations
Managing payroll calculations including salaries, overtime, allowances, statutory payments, and deductions
Ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements including PAYE, NIC, and pension contributions
Handling payroll queries from employees in a professional and timely manner
Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring data integrity
Supporting payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audits as required
Working collaboratively with HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll-related issues
Assisting with process improvements and maintaining payroll best practiceWhat you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in a payroll role, ideally within a large or complex organisation
Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and compliance
Experience using payroll systems and handling high-volume payroll processing
High attention to detail with excellent numerical and organisational skills
Ability to manage deadlines and work accurately under pressure
Confident communicator with a professional and customer-focused approachWhat you'll get in return
Competitive salary between £30,000 - £33,000 (pro rata)
Full-time hours: 36.25 per week
