Overview

Lead DVSA’s digital delivery function, shaping strategy, capability, and culture to deliver high‑quality, user‑focused services at national scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead DVSA’s Digital & Data delivery function, setting strategy, vision, and direction.
  • Deliver large‑scale, user‑focused digital services used by millions annually.
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams across engineering, design, and analysis.
  • Manage significant budgets and complex delivery portfolios.
  • Drive transformation to agile, product‑centric and continuously improving ways of working.
  • Ensure reliable, secure, and resilient live digital services with strong performance outcomes.
  • Build strategic relationships across government, suppliers, and senior stakeholders.
  • Champion innovation, modern technologies, and data‑driven decision‑making to improve service.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience leading large digital teams, both directly and virtually, including oversight of suppliers.
  • Excellent knowledge across a wide range of technologies, disciplines and platforms (software engineering, security, data interchange, data management, cloud computing).
  • Experience creating digital strategies and solutions.
  • Leading cross‑functional development teams with strong product outcomes.
  • Solid experience in software development, business analysis, and service design.
  • Practical experience operating services focused on agile development methods and continuous delivery.
  • Experience growing digital talent and capability through insourcing, apprenticeships, and strategic use of outsourced resources.
