CNC Sliding Head Setter / Operator (Citizen / Fanuc) Luton, Bedfordshire Up to £18.50 per hour (DOE) + Overtime (x1.5) Days | Early Finish Friday | Overtime Available Join a Modern, Growing Precision Engineering Business This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-invested, forward-thinking precision engineering company specialising in the manufacture of high-quality turned components for a range of demanding industries. The Role You will be responsible for the setting and operation of Citizen Sliding Head machines (Fanuc controls), producing high-precision components in a fast-paced subcontract environment. This is a Setter / Operator role first and foremost - however, any programming experience would be a strong advantage. You’ll be working on a mix of new and repeat work, with a focus on quality, efficiency and continuous improvement. Benefits 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays Company pension scheme Healthcare after 1 year’s service Clean, modern working environment Long-term stability and growth Key Responsibilities Setting & Operating Citizen Sliding Head machines (Fanuc controls) Producing precision turned components to tight tolerances Working from engineering drawings and specifications Tool changes, offsets and basic program edits where required Supporting low to medium batch work, including prototype jobs Carrying out self-inspection and quality checks Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment Contributing to continuous improvement and lean processes Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Sliding Head Setter / Operator Experience with Citizen machines and Fanuc controls highly desirable Other sliding head experience (e.g. Star) will also be considered Programming knowledge is beneficial but not essential Strong understanding of CNC turning and tooling Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Experience working to tight tolerances Positive attitude with a “can-do” and quality-first mindset Culture & Environment Young, collaborative and supportive team Many employees with 10+ years’ service Strong focus on quality, teamwork and customer delivery Ongoing investment in modern CNC machinery and technology Commitment to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing Hours & Overtime Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm Friday: 8:00am – 2:00pm (early finish) Overtime available: Up to 2 hours per day Saturday mornings (approx. 5 hours) Overtime paid at x1.5 Why This Role?
