HGV Truck Technician   Location: Reading Salary: Up to £48,672 per annum, plus overtime paid at 1.5 x basic rate Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Working Hours: 4 on 4 off, 06:00 to 18:00 Benefits: Overtime, birthday leave, enhanced family leave, pension, uniform, manufacturer training, EAP, progression opportunities   ISQ Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Truck Technician to join a busy commercial vehicle maintenance operation based in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected and growing automotive business that invests heavily in its people, training, and long-term career development.   This role will suit a qualified HGV Technician who enjoys varied work across heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and fleet maintenance. You will be responsible for keeping customer vehicles safe, compliant, and roadworthy, while working within a supportive technical team and modern workshop environment.   The successful candidate will have strong diagnostic and repair skills, a positive approach to teamwork, and a genuine commitment to high-quality workmanship.   Key Responsibilities - Carry out major and minor repairs on heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and associated vehicles - Complete routine inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance - Diagnose vehicle faults and work with the wider repair team to plan effective repairs - Maintain accurate records of work completed and ensure all paperwork is completed correctly - Keep the workshop clean, safe, and organised - Support with roadside or emergency repair requirements when needed - Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with compliance standards   Candidate Requirements - Level 3 qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance, such as NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI - Experience working on HGVs, trucks, trailers, or commercial vehicles - Strong understanding of DVSA standards and vehicle compliance - Ability to identify worn or faulty components accurately - Full UK driving licence, ideally with relevant vehicle categories - Reliable, professional, and able to work well as part of a team   Working Hours 4 on 4 off shift pattern 06:00 to 18:00 Overtime opportunities available Saturday overtime paid at enhanced rate where applicable   Benefits - Salary up to £48,672 per annum - Overtime paid at 1.5 x basic rate - Extra day off for your birthday - 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays - Auto-enrolment pension - Enhanced maternity and paternity policies - Manufacturer and in-house training - Internal mentorship programme - Progression and annual appraisal opportunities - Employee Assistance Programme and wellness support - 24-hour online GP access and second medical opinion support - Mental Health First Aiders - Branded uniform provided - Long service recognition - Annual leave increase after 5 years' service - Reward and recognition programmes   Apply Now ISQ Recruitment is managing this vacancy on behalf of our client.
