About the role
SEND Teacher- ASD Primary
TimePlan Education is recruiting a Qualified Teacher to join a specialist SEND primary school in Barnet on a full-time basis until the end of the academic year. The role will involve teaching all core subjects within a KS1 class, with some additional KS2 teaching on a Friday afternoon. You will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons across the curriculum, working closely with support staff to ensure consistent pupil progress and engagement.
This is a great opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). The successful candidate will be supporting pupils with ASD, alongside some SEMH and behaviour support needs.
The ideal teacher will be calm, professional, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils. You should be confident delivering creative, sensory, and highly differentiated lessons across all subjects, promoting communication, independence, and engagement. Experience in specialist SEND settings is desirable.
Job Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across all core subjects
* Support pupils with ASD and SEMH needs
* Use sensory and communication-based strategies to support engagement
* Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour support
* Work closely with support staff to maximise learning and progress
* Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

Job Requirements
* QTS
* Experience working in SEND settings (desirable but not essential for ECTs)
* Strong understanding of behaviour and emotional regulation
* Confident teaching across the curriculum, including KS1
* DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
* Available full-time and able to commit long-term
