Fully Skilled Assembler 📍 Basildon We are looking for a Fully Skilled Assembler to work in a busy manufacturing environment at our Basildon site Salary 💷 £18.59 per hour Working Hours * Monday – Thursday: 7.00am – 16.00pm * Friday: 7.30am – 12.30pm Benefits Package * Overtime * Company pension scheme * 25 days annual leave + 8 statutory holidays, Christmas shut down * Death in Service benefit * Long Service awards Purpose of role and key accountabilities: To carry out assembly of aircraft components to customer defined specification and standard. Core skills/attributes needed: * Ability to work on assembly of new parts with solid rivets using hand & air riveting tools & other equipment for the purpose required. * Visual inspection of completed products * Full knowledge and experience of using Vernier’s and other specialist measuring tools Experience of working to adjust sheet metal parts for assembly * Current experience of the use of air tools i.e. drills / rivet press / rivet guns * Experience of using sealants * Engineering background ideally in aerospace industry * Experience of reading, interpreting engineering drawings and specifications * Experience of working with a number of different materials and finishes * Attention to detail * Problem solving skills * Utilising a range of hand tools * Finish precision engineering products Measurable performance indicators/objectives of role: * Quality standards * Output targets * Flexibility to undertake a range of activities * Maintenance of health and safety/housekeeping standards within the team to required standard The employee must also strive to support the elements of the SQCDP framework of the wider Gardner business; ➢ Safety: work in line with all accredited company safety standards in order to provide a safe working environment for all ➢ Quality: support the quality accreditations across the business to ensure the delivery of a ‘right first time’ performance ➢ Cost: support the continuous improvements in cost reduction activities across the company in order to deliver increased profitability and value for money to our customers and stakeholders Page 1 of 2 Gardner Aerospace Public (GREEN) Document ➢ Delivery: drive improvement in delivery performance to continually exceed customer expectations and targets ➢ People: support organisational capability and influence cultural change by embracing diversity, inclusion, wellbeing and community
