Senior Java Software Engineer

Salary up to £68,000 pa + up to 20% annual bonus

Established FinTech in Cardiff have an opportunity for a Senior Java Software Engineer to join growing team.

As part of a collaborative Agile engineering team, you'll work on a mix of greenfield development and product enhancements, helping shape scalable, high-quality solutions while influencing engineering best practices.

Role:

• Developing REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Building robust, scalable backend solutions in an Agile environment
• Contributing to automated testing, CI/CD and end-to-end feature delivery
• Collaborating with Product Owners and mentoring junior developers

Skills / experience:

• Commercial experience with Java (8+) and Spring Boot
• Strong SQL skills (Postgres or Oracle preferred)
• Experience with Git, Jenkins (or similar CI tools) and automated testing
• Passion for writing clean, maintainable code and solving complex problems

Nice to have:

Docker, AWS/Azure/GCP, React or Angular, Selenium/WDIO, Financial Services experience, or exposure to AI-assisted development.
