About the Role

Are you a highly skilled Working Supervisor  with proven leadership ability and a passion for quality assurance? We are seeking an experienced working supervisor to oversee a dedicated team of technicians across London and the Home Counties.

In this dynamic, field-based role, you will lead from the front—allocating workloads, checking workmanship standards, ensuring strict compliance with BS 8214 and BM TRADA Q-Mark schemes, and stepping in hands-on to resolve complex defects and guide team members.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Workload Management: Lead, mentor, and support fire door technicians and apprentices. Plan and assign daily site inspections, installations, maintenance, and remedial works.

Technical Delivery & Quality Assurance: Oversee quality standards across door leaves, frames, gaps, intumescent seals, ironmongery, and closers. Carry out site checks, audit completion records, and conduct hands-on installations or defect resolutions when needed.

Compliance & Standards: Ensure all works strictly comply with BS 8214, manufacturer installation requirements, and relevant certification schemes (BM TRADA Q-Mark / FDIS).

Client & Operational Support: Act as the main technical contact on-site for clients, project managers, and surveyors, attending progress meetings and providing technical guidance.

Health & Safety: Maintain safe systems of work, oversee site risk assessments, ensure proper tool/equipment use, and promote high standards of site safety.

What We Are Looking For

Experience: Substantial hands-on experience in fire door inspection, installation, maintenance, and remedial works.

Qualifications: Recognized fire door qualifications/accreditations (e.g., BM TRADA Q-Mark, FDIS, FIRAS, or equivalent NVQ/Abbe Level 3 qualifications).

Technical Knowledge: Deep working knowledge of BS 8214, manufacturer fire door specifications, and certified assembly integrity.

Supervisory Skills: Proven ability to manage field technicians, conduct quality audits, control documentation, and maintain site productivity.

Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (willingness to travel across field-based projects in London/surrounding areas).

What We Offer

Competitive Salary Package

Company Vehicle & Fuel Card

Fully Expensed Business Travel

25 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays

Contributory Workplace Pension Scheme

Ongoing CPD, Professional Development & Refresher Qualifications
