Job Profile for Fabricator / Welder 46224 Fabricator / Welder (Architectural Metalwork) Location: Newry Salary: £16.00 - £18.00 per hour Job Type: Permanent (3-month probation period) Overview We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join a well-established company specialising in architectural metalwork. This role involves the fabrication and installation of high-quality structural and decorative steelwork across a variety of projects. The successful candidate will have strong experience working with feature staircases, balustrades, railings, and escape stairs, using both mild steel and stainless steel. Key Responsibilities Fabrication of architectural metalwork including: Feature staircases Escape stairs Railings and balustrades Working from engineering drawings to produce high-quality finished products Welding using MIG, TIG, and Stick (Arc) processes Cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components Assisting with and carrying out on-site installations where required Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within deadlines Adhering to health & safety regulations at all timesRequirements Minimum 4-5 years' experience in architectural metalwork fabrication and fitting Proven experience working with: Mild steel Stainless steel Competent in: MIG welding TIG welding Stick (Arc) welding Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings Experience with both workshop fabrication and site installation Strong attention to detail and quality of work Ability to work independently and as part of a teamWhat's on Offer Competitive hourly rate (£16-£18 depending on experience) Permanent position following successful 3-month probation Opportunity to work on bespoke, high-quality projects Stable, long-term employment with a growing businessIdeal Candidate Background in architectural or structural steelwork Experience working on bespoke or high-spec projects Reliable, motivated, and takes pride in their work Bennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.
