Your new company
You'll be joining a global biopharma company who are expanding their research teams to focus on advancing preclinical discovery through innovative, translational in-vitro technologies, such as organoid culture. You'll work in a highly collaborative environment supporting immunology and inflammation programs across early discovery and development.
Your new role
As a senior scientist in the R&D team you'll be working alongside an experienced team, carrying out complex in-vitro modelling for drug discovery and development programmes.
You will play a key role in developing and applying advanced translational systems to support preclinical evaluation of therapeutic candidates.
This is initially a 12 month contract that has the potential to extend and is a lab based role.
Key duties include:
Designing, developing, and optimising organoid‑based disease models, particularly for immunology and inflammation
Implementing and refining complex in vitro assays using single‑ and multi‑organ‑on‑chip platforms and related systems
Carrying out a broad range of analytical assays including FACS, MSD, ELISA, and qPCR
Troubleshooting technical challenges in assay performance and model development
Collaborating with project and functional teams to deliver high‑quality data to timelines
Authoring protocols, SOPs, and technical documentation aligned with internal standards
Preparing and presenting results/data both in team meetings and for internal reports and scientific communications
What you'll need to succeed
You should have:
An MSc / PhD (or equivalent experience) within biochemistry, biotechnology, cell / molecular biology or similar, with good hands-on experience in organoid culture and/or organ‑on‑chip model development
Proven expertise with FACS, MSD, ELISA, and qPCR‑based assays
A strong knowledge of multiple in-vitro techniques and assays used within drug discovery and/or development
Ideally the ability to troubleshoot complex in-vitro systems
Strong communication skills. as presenting results / data and liaising with a wide range of stakeholders is essential for this role
Experience with advanced imaging (e.g. confocal microscopy, IHC, imaging mass cytometry) is an advantage
Prior work in immunology, autoimmune or inflammatory disease models is strongly preferred
ALL candidates must hold the right to work in the UK without sponsorship until at least June 2027. No sponsorship is available for this role.
