About the role

Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Decant Officer to work with one of our Local Authority clients in London. What the Job Will Be Doing * Managing a caseload of decant cases from end-to-end, ensuring residents are supported throughout the relocation process * Developing and delivering person-centred decant plans, including support for returning tenants * Engaging with residents to ensure they understand the decant process and are supported to make informed decisions * Drafting and issuing statutory notices in line with decant procedures * Arranging removals, disconnections and reconnections using approved contractors and financial systems * Processing Home Loss and Disturbance payments and maintaining accurate financial records * Undertaking housing needs surveys and maintaining up-to-date data to support decant programmes * Supporting vulnerable residents and working collaboratively to address any barriers to successful relocation * Liaising with internal teams including Lettings and Voids to secure suitable accommodation for residents * Building and maintaining strong relationships with partners, including social services, contractors and external agencies * Maintaining accurate case records and monitoring progress against key milestones * Supporting regeneration programmes and contributing to social value initiatives across estates * Acting as a key point of contact for residents post-handover, including property demonstrations and resettlement support What You Will Need * Experience delivering housing services within a social housing or Local Authority setting * Experience managing a complex caseload, ideally within decanting, homelessness or housing needs * Strong understanding of landlord and tenant responsibilities and housing processes * Experience working with vulnerable residents and supporting complex needs * Ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including harder-to-reach groups * Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands * Good knowledge of housing systems and strong IT skills * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal * Ability to work flexibly, including attending meetings and visits outside normal working hours
