We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support learning, emotional regulation, and personal development throughout the school day.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about inclusion and making a real difference to a child’s educational experience.

Location: BurnleyHours: Full-time (term time only) 8:30am – 3:30pmSalary: £14.25 - £15 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN
  • Assist with learning activities, adapting tasks as needed
  • Support social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and support plans
  • Encourage independence and confidence
  • Liaise with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
  • Support safeguarding and wellbeing at all times

About You

  • Experience working with children with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs)
  • Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow guidance and adapt support strategies
  • Relevant TA qualification desirable but not essential
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
