Import Clerk

MS675 - Import Clerk Location: Gatwick Salary:  £27,000 - £32,000 per annum DOE Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Import Clerk on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.  Duties and Responsibilities:  Handling incoming calls and customer enquiries.  Preparing accurate job quotations.  Processing operational Import shipments.  Liaising with carriers, contractors, and internal teams.  Costing jobs and invoicing.  Occasionally assisting with warehouse duties if required.  Managing your own desk efficiently and maintaining accurate records.  Monday to Friday 0900 – 1800 (1 hour lunch break).  After probation, 1 weekend in 3 to cover time sensitive shipments, paid at weekend rates.  Skills and Qualifications:  Previous experience in imports air, road & ocean and customs operations is preferred.  Strong organisational and communication skills.  Ability to manage tasks independently and as part of a team.  IT literate.  Our client will provide comprehensive training and certification for the right candidate to ensure you are fully equipped to manage and process shipments.   Benefits:  Salary dependent on age and experience.  3-month probation period.  20 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
