Learning Support Assistant - Year 4
Islington, N7 (commutable from Tufnell Park, Holloway, Kentish Town, Camden, Archway)
£110-£120 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
Long Term Futures is working with a supportive primary school in Islington to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ASD and ADHD.
The pupil has an EHCP and benefits from a calm, consistent adult who can build a positive relationship and provide structured support throughout the school day. This role would suit someone with a steady, patient approach, who understands how to support pupils who can become overwhelmed or disengaged.
About the Role
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo, you will:
* Provide consistent 1:1 support across the school day
* Support the pupil in maintaining focus, engagement and routine
* Use clear, calm communication and a measured approach
* Help the pupil manage emotional regulation and transitions
* Encourage positive behaviour through rapport and consistency
* Adapt your approach to avoid overly directive or confrontational interactions
* Support access to the KS2 curriculum
This is a role where relationship-building and consistency are key to success.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD or SEMH needs
* Calm, patient and able to remain consistent under pressure
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust
* Understanding of non-confrontational behaviour strategies
* Reliable and committed to a long-term role
