MASH Social Worker / Senior Social Worker | Gloucestershire County Council | £39,152 – £47,181 per annum
Gloucestershire County Council are looking to recruit Social Workers and Senior Social Workers to join their well-established Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) based in Waterwells, Quedgeley. Role Overview
As a MASH Social Worker, you will be working at the Front Door of Children’s Services, making timely and informed decisions to safeguard children and young people. You will screen referrals, assess risk, and work closely with partner agencies to ensure the right interventions are put in place at the earliest opportunity.
This is a fast-paced environment where strong analytical skills and confident decision-making are essential, supported by robust management oversight and a collaborative multi-agency setting.
Key Responsibilities
Triage and assess incoming referrals to Children’s Services
Make timely, evidence-based decisions regarding thresholds and safeguarding concerns
Undertake risk assessments and determine appropriate interventions
Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals including police, health, and education
Contribute to strategy discussions and safeguarding decision-making processes
Ensure accurate and timely recording in line with statutory requirements
Maintain a child-focused approach, ensuring the voice of the child is central
Work within tight timescales to ensure prompt and effective responses

Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
Registration with Social Work England
Completion of ASYE (where applicable)
Experience within frontline children’s services (MASH experience desirable)
Strong understanding of safeguarding thresholds and Front Door processes
Ability to make sound decisions within tight timescales
Excellent communication and multi-agency working skills
Enhanced DBS clearance (Adults & Children’s)
