Location: Plymouth
Contract: Initial 3 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £20.29 per hour (Umbrella) / £15.56 per hour (PAYE)
About the Role
Plymouth City Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join their Front Door Service. This is a vital role at the first point of contact for children and families, ensuring that those in need receive the right support at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
Screen and triage incoming referrals, assessing levels of need and risk
Coordinate appropriate support for vulnerable children and families
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to deliver a joined-up approach
Communicate directly with families, offering guidance and signposting to relevant early help services
Identify safeguarding concerns and ensure risks are responded to appropriately
Complete requests for information from partner agencies in a timely and professional mannerWhat We’re Looking For
Experience working with children, young people, and families
Strong understanding of safeguarding and risk assessment
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Experience working within a multi-agency setting is desirable
