PE Teacher
Location: Cardiff, Wales
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-time contract, (Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:10pm)
Pay: £172.98 to £200 per day (depending on experience)
A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Cardiff is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher (PE) to join their successful PE department from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated teacher who is passionate about sport, fitness, and inspiring young people to lead healthy and active lifestyles. The role involves teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with potential opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 5 depending on experience.
ECTs/NQTs as well as experienced teachers are warmly encouraged to apply.
About the Role:
You will deliver engaging and high-quality PE lessons, promoting participation, teamwork, resilience, and sporting excellence. You will be expected to contribute to extra-curricular sport, school teams, and wider enrichment opportunities, helping to build a strong sporting culture within the school.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Ability to teach Boys' PE across KS3 and KS4
Strong knowledge of a range of sports and physical activities
Passion for sport, health, and physical education
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Ability to motivate and inspire young people of all abilities
Commitment to raising attainment and participation in PE
Desirable:
Experience coaching or leading school sports teams
Ability to teach KS5 PE (not essential)
ECT/NQT applications welcome
Knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales
Essential Safeguarding & Compliance:
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
