Permanent Social Worker – Children’s Services (Permanence Team) QUALIFIED SOCIAL WORKER
Location: Liverpool, Merseyside
Salary: £35,000 – £42,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our Permanence Team in Liverpool. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and young people by securing stable, long-term placements that support their future wellbeing.
You will work with children in care, care leavers, foster carers, and adoptive families to achieve permanence through adoption, long-term fostering, or special guardianship arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of children with a focus on achieving timely permanence
Undertake assessments including Special Guardianship Orders (SGO) and adoption reports
Develop and implement care plans that meet the needs of children and young people
Work closely with multi-agency partners to ensure the best outcomes
Attend court proceedings and provide high-quality evidence and reports
Build strong relationships with children, families, and carers
About You
Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work degree (e.g., BA/MA Social Work or equivalent)
Registered with Social Work England
Experience working within children’s services, ideally in permanence, adoption, or fostering
Strong assessment and report-writing skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
