General Foreman / Senior General Foreman
Location: Multi-site role covering Devon, Somerset and Hampshire
Contract: Initially 3 months, with the potential for longer-term or ongoing work
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Rate: Competitive
We are looking for an experienced General Foreman or Senior General Foreman to support survey work across several water sites.
This is a site-based, multi-location role covering sites in the Exeter and Bristol areas. Some travel may also be required to a large clean water site near Bournemouth.
You'll lead and direct site teams and subcontractors, coordinating the safe delivery of operational activities and ensuring HSQE, programme and budget requirements are met.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead and coordinate site teams and subcontractors across multiple locations
* Ensure all work is undertaken safely and with consideration for local residents and the travelling public
* Manage, supervise and mentor the site team as appropriate
* Promote cost-conscious management through the efficient use of resources
* Prepare, review and update realistic work programmes
* Ensure method statements and risk assessments are prepared, reviewed, briefed and updated
* Maintain accurate site records and ensure “as constructed” information is provided for inclusion within the Health and Safety File
* Attend training associated with site management duties, including appointed person and temporary works training, as required
* Ensure all activities comply with relevant health, safety, quality and environmental requirements
Essential requirements:
Applicants must hold the following qualifications and site cards:
* SMSTS
* CSCS Site Manager card as a minimum
* First Aid at Work
* EUSR Clean Water
* CAT and Genny / Cable Avoidance training
* Fire Marshal training
* IOSH or Construction Managers Safety Certificate
* A recognised Civil Engineering or Site Management qualification
Previous experience within the water or wastewater treatment industry would be advantageous.
Due to the multi-site nature of the role, applicants must be able and willing to travel regularly across Devon, Somerset and Hampshire, with occasional travel to the Bournemouth area.
