SEN Teacher
Salary: £32,916 - £49,232 per annum (M1-UPS2), dependent on qualifications and experienceContract: Permanent, Full-TimeStart date: New school opening late 2026 (tbc)
About the School
This brand-new specialist school is due to open in late 2026 (subject to confirmation) and will provide a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious learning environment for children and young people aged 5-19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
With a planned capacity of 72 students, the school’s vision is to create a safe, enriching and aspirational setting where every learner can thrive. The focus is on high standards, strong relationships and a trauma-informed, child-centred approach.

The Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled SEN Teachers (primary and/or secondary trained) with a genuine passion for working with children and young people.
As a teacher, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning, ensuring all pupils have access to a meaningful, engaging and appropriately differentiated curriculum. You will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to create a positive, supportive and structured learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
- Setting personalised learning targets and supporting pupils to achieve them
- Monitoring progress and reporting to parents, carers and senior staff
- Leading on a subject or curriculum area and supporting colleagues as required
- Managing and supervising support staff within the classroom
- Maintaining compliance with safeguarding, equality, and health & safety policies
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience of teaching a thematic curriculum in primary and/or secondary education
- Experience working in special school settings, particularly with pupils with SEMH and SEND
- Proven ability to deliver a differentiated curriculum to meet diverse needs
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum
- Working understanding of ASC and SEMH, including complex presentations
Desirable
- Additional qualifications in SEND
- Experience contributing to curriculum development for learners with SEND
- Strong nurturing skills and an empathetic, relationship-focused approach
