Senior Project Manager – Technical Communications (Antennas) (107jc) – Leominster – Circa £63k + Benefits
An established UK engineering organisation specialising in advanced communications systems and antenna technology is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, high-value technical programmes.
DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.
This role would suit individuals from a military, defence, or engineering background, particularly those with experience in communications systems, signals, ISR, or equipment delivery, who are looking to transition into a senior leadership position in industry.
You will take ownership of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery against time, cost, and performance, while operating within a structured and compliance-driven environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of technical projects, leading multidisciplinary teams and engaging directly with customers.
And therefore, your typical responsibilities include:
- Delivering multiple complex engineering projects simultaneously
- Leading structured project governance (risk, reporting, assurance, change control)
- Managing detailed project plans including timelines, resources, and risk registers
- Taking ownership of project budgets and financial performance
- Leading internal teams across engineering, production, and support functions
- Managing external suppliers and ensuring delivery standards are met
- Acting as the primary interface with customers and key stakeholders
- Controlling scope, commercial delivery, and contract milestones
- Supporting invoicing aligned to project progress
- Identifying and escalating risks in a timely and structured manner
- Ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulated processes
- Driving continuous improvement and capturing lessons learned
The ideal candidate Profile will include:
Essential Experience
- Formal Project Management qualification (e.g. APM PMQ or equivalent)
- Proven experience delivering multiple complex projects in parallel
- Strong financial and commercial management of projects
- Experience leading cross-functional teams
- Stakeholder and customer engagement at senior levels
- Supplier and contractor management
- Background in a technical, engineering, or communications environment
- Strong planning capability (e.g. MS Project or equivalent tools)
Desirable
- Experience within defence, MOD, or military environments
- Background in RF systems, communications equipment, or antenna technology
- Experience working in structured, compliance-driven organisations
- Advanced project qualifications (e.g. PPQ, ChPP)

In return they are offering an excellent starting salary circa £63k, as well as additional benefits including 26 days + Bank Holiday, Pension, with employer contribution, Employee share scheme (after 12 months), with a host of other benefits.
