About the role

Sales Manager (UK & Ireland) Capital Equipment | Food Processing & Automation Home-Based | £60K - £80K (DOE) + Commission + Car/Allowance High-value sales. Complex solutions. Real influence. If you’ve built your career selling capital equipment or automated machinery into food manufacturing, you’ll know this isn’t about shifting products - it’s about solving problems, building trust, and winning long-cycle, high-value projects. This opportunity puts you at the front of that. You’ll be joining a global OEM with a strong UK presence and international manufacturing capability, delivering cutting-edge automated food processing solutions into some of the most demanding production environments. The Role This is a strategic, high-impact sales position covering the UK & Ireland. You’ll take ownership of the full sales lifecycle, from identifying opportunities through to closing complex, high-value deals, while building long-term partnerships with key customers. This is not a transactional role. It’s about consultative selling, technical credibility, and commercial ownership. What You’ll Be Doing * Winning new business within food manufacturing and processing environments * Building and managing a strong pipeline of capital equipment projects * Developing and growing key accounts, identifying repeat and expansion opportunities * Engaging with Engineering, Production, Operations and senior leadership teams * Leading a consultative sales approach, understanding challenges and proposing tailored solutions * Managing long-cycle, high-value projects from concept through to contract * Leading commercial negotiations, pricing strategy, and contract agreements * Working closely with internal engineering and project teams to ensure successful delivery What We’re Looking For You’ll already understand what it takes to succeed in this space. * Proven track record in capital equipment / machinery sales (ideally food or FMCG) * Strong experience in new business development and key account management * Comfortable selling high-value, technically complex solutions * Strong commercial awareness - margins, ROI, deal structuring * Confident dealing with senior stakeholders and decision-makers * A consultative, solutions-led approach - not just order taking * Strong negotiation and closing skills in long sales cycles What’s On Offer * £60,000 - £80,000 basic salary (depending on experience) * Uncapped commission on equipment sales * Company car or car allowance * Home-based role with autonomy * Opportunity to represent a well-established, technically strong OEM * Exposure to high-value, consultative sales projects * Clear opportunity to make a direct commercial impact Why This Role Stands Out * You’re not selling a commodity, you’re selling engineered solutions that matter * You’ll have the freedom to develop your territory properly * You’ll be backed by a business with real engineering capability and global reach * Every deal is meaningful - high value, technically engaging, and commercially rewarding If you’re currently selling capital equipment and feel like you’re capable of more - more ownership, more value, more reward - this is the kind of role that gives you that platform.
