About the role

Job Title: Finance Assistant Location: Colchester Salary: 28-30K per annum Hours: Full Time – Monday - Friday Nolan Recruitment are recruiting a diligent and organised Finance Assistant to support all aspects of the Finance and Accounts function for their client based in Colchester. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth and accurate operation of day-to-day financial activities. Key Responsibilities: * Processing supplier invoices and reconciling supplier statements on a monthly basis * Preparing and completing supplier payment runs * Processing intercompany payments * Processing and issuing sales invoices to customers * Maintaining the sales ledger and supporting credit control activities * Assisting with debt collection and responding to customer queries * Processing monthly expenses in line with company policies * Liaising with internal teams to support finance operations * Communicating with customers and suppliers as required * Monitoring departmental and individual KPIs and reporting where required * Assisting with month-end and ledger close processes * Undertaking any other duties necessary to support the finance function and wider business Essential Skills & Experience * AAT qualification (desirable but not essential) * Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail * Good understanding of financial and accounting procedures * Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the team * Flexibility and willingness to support across a wider range of duties when required * Good working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and accounting systems * Confident and professional communication skills, including telephone contact with senior stakeholders * A friendly, polite, and professional manner Benefits: * Flexible working options to help balance work and life. * Professional development opportunities, including training and career progression. * Collaborative team environment with supportive colleagues. * Employee wellbeing focus, including regular team activities and a positive working culture.
