This is not a training role or a stepping stone position.
It is a planned, succession-led hire within a well-established independent firm, offering the opportunity to take on real responsibility from day one and progress into a senior position over time.
You will work closely with the current Accounts Manager, with a clear view to stepping into that role as part of a structured transition.
The Opportunity This is a hands-on Client Manager role combining technical work, client interaction, and team support.
You will be trusted to manage your own portfolio and build strong client relationships, while also supporting and developing junior staff.
There is also scope to gain audit exposure if that is something you want to develop, although it is not a core requirement.
What You Will Be Doing Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors
Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts (limited companies, partnerships and sole traders)
Corporate tax computations and CT600s
Producing management accounts
Overseeing bookkeeping and VAT returns
Preparing straightforward Self Assessment returns
Acting as a key point of contact for clients
Supporting software onboarding and client training
Reviewing work and mentoring junior team members
About You ACA or ACCA qualified (or close to completion)
Currently working in a client-facing role within practice
Confident reviewing work and supporting junior staff
Comfortable across both accounts and tax
Looking for a long-term move rather than a training-focused role
Why This Role? This is a genuinely stable firm with a clear plan in place. xwzovoh
If you are looking for a role where you can take ownership, build client relationships, and step into a senior position over time without needing constant structure or hand-holding this offers a realistic long-term move.
