Digital IT Systems Manager
About the role
MCS are partnering with a leading public sector organisation to recruit a Digital Systems Manager. This is a technical and strategic role focused on providing specialist expertise for a diverse range of IT systems and services to ensure effective service provision across the organisation
Key Responsibilities
- IT System Management: Leading the day-to-day administration, support, and continuous improvement of IT Line of Business systems across Finance, HR, Fleet, and Operational applications using Service Management tools to meet SLA standards.
- System & Service Improvement: Managing change release activities, system upgrades, and service transitions, while researching new technologies to optimise resources and align with ISO 20000 quality standards.
- Business Planning & Strategy: Collaborating with senior leadership to design complex IT solutions, prepare business cases, assist with procurement's, and contribute to long-term IT strategies.
- People Management & Training: Providing supervision and support to IT staff, identifying development needs, and designing and delivering system training for end-users across the organisation.
- Governance & Risk Management: Ensuring system security, asset management, and compliance with information governance policies, applicable legislation, and audit requirements.
Essential Criteria
Candidates must meet the following requirements by the closing date to be considered for the role:
- Possess a university degree (or equivalent professional qualification) in ICT, Systems Development, Computing, or a relevant subject, plus at least 2 years of experience in a Systems Manager role.
- Proven experience in managing and upgrading IT systems, with the capability to troubleshoot advanced technical issues.
- Possess a full, current UK driving licence or access to a form of transport enabling full fulfillment of job requirements. (adjustments possible)

- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a strong commitment to customer service and accuracy.
- High attention to detail with experience delivering high-quality work to tight deadlines.

- Salary: Grade P04 | £24.41/h PAYE (Weekly Pay)
- Duration: 6 Months
- Working Arrangement: 36.25H/W (Mon-Fri)
